Customer Spotlight – INFITAINMENT
12th Feb 2025
We recently had the wonderful opportunity of interviewing the founder of INFITAINMENT, a brand that has successfully blended music, fashion, and entrepreneurship! Learn more about their journey, inspiration, and the role BuckWholesale has played in their success!
"Could you tell us a little about your business, and what inspired you to get into this industry?
My company INFITAINMENT originally began in 2001 as a production company, creating music and video content. Once we entered into more of a digital era where people listened and watched content more from their phones, we had to adapt. I created a Hip Hop album titled Timeless Masterpiece that was originally released on CD. I thought hard on what we could do next, being that streaming had replaced the way people listen to music.
Being an avid hat wearer myself, I came up with an idea to create hats with the name Timeless Masterpiece. I designed an emblem and searched for wholesale hats online. I diligently searched and came across BuckWholesale—and the rest is history! We have sold thousands of hats since that time and have been a faithful customer for almost 10 years now. It has truly been a symbiotic relationship that I have grown to depend on, and I am grateful for your service!
What products or services do you offer?
As far as products, of course, we offer Snapback hats as well as Dad Hats with our Timeless Masterpiece emblem on them. We also have hoodies, and we even ventured out into non-traditional items such as neck ties, accessories, and a plethora of other things where we can apply the trademark.
My album Timeless Masterpiece, which is on all streaming platforms, always holds a special place in my heart because that’s the foundation. I even went on to write a book in 2017 about my experience of being self-employed for 20 years. It’s titled Timeless Masterpiece: The Journey of Creating Wealth and Happiness, which I self-published and is available on Amazon.
How long have you been in business, and what has your journey been like so far?
I first decided to go full-time entrepreneur back in 2004. I haven’t worked for anyone but "the people" since then. It is NO easy task, but I was told three words by a gentleman named Earl Byron Russell in West Philadelphia when I first began. He told me:
"Persistence beats resistance."
That has been the motto ever since. I’ve made a reputation for being resilient—working in all types of weather conditions outside in both Philadelphia (Broad and Chestnut) and New York City (31st and 8th Ave), where I currently am. Persistence beats resistance has been the driving phrase of inspiration that has carried me this far.
What accomplishments have you felt the most proud of?
I am proud of forming my LLC, INFITAINMENT, and trademarking Timeless Masterpiece. Owning copyrights for both my album and book turned my dream into something tangible—something that can grow to be an asset and pass down to my daughter Wisdom.
That is truly the biggest accomplishment I have in my life. She’s awesome!
Could you tell us what sort of struggles you run into, and how you overcome them?
Pardon the optimism, but the struggles are the best part of being an artist/entrepreneur. I enjoy solving problems—that’s what led to my growth. It comes with innovation and allows me to stay ahead of the competition because I/we are willing to do what others won’t—endure the process and figure it out.
My biggest problem is also my biggest strength: staying excited and coming up with new things to keep our supporters and customers engaged!
Do you have any tips to offer when it comes to customizing hats?
I would say stick with what works—don’t keep reinventing the wheel. If you believe in something, stick with it. People always give their input and tell me what to change, but I literally see thousands of people wearing our brand, so we’re doing something right!
My biggest issue is time. If you can outsource manufacturing, do it. I use a lot of my time manufacturing, which ends up cutting into my sleep and areas where I could be more effective. I may have to take up BuckWholesale's ability to customize hats to free up more time for myself.
Which type of hats that we carry are your favorite?
The Classic Snapbacks (HT_BKC_2007)—which I not only sell but wear myself daily. They are a best seller. Another best seller is the Dad Hats (HT_BKC_2004).
I switch up and get a few others from time to time, but those are a core foundation to our 1Hat Brand.
What strategies have you found most effective in growing your business?
I do a lot of cross-promoting with other artists—from skateboarders to dancers, models, rappers, singers, and musicians. By treating people like people and not being judgmental of our differences, we’ve built something special.
I don’t believe in demographics. Cool people are our demographic, and cool people come in all shapes, sizes, ages, and races. ?
What are the biggest changes your business has seen over the years?
In the beginning, it was adapting to the new digital age. When I started, YouTube was not as popular, and MySpace was just coming around as far as social media was concerned.
I don’t mind changing and evolving, which I find exciting. I honestly have no idea what I will think up next to do with my business. I am exploring more of the podcast space while promoting our brand—maybe this is something you will see me partner up with BuckWholesale on in the future.
Hmmmmm?
Has BuckWholesale played a role in the success of your business?
I owe BuckWholesale a lot of gratitude because they were the first company I ordered from to get our hats. I wear them literally every day, and our customers wear them almost every day.
It’s special at this point, where I even feel something in my eye (smile). Honestly, I have experienced amazing customer service from BuckWholesale. They have real people to communicate with. They are dependable—I know if I order hats on Monday, in my region, I get my hats on Wednesday.
It’s a partnership that I wouldn’t change for anything, and I’m looking forward to new products being introduced while the core foundation remains the same.
What are future goals and aspirations for your business?
We are 100% sticking with our hats, apparel, and other products.
I meet so many interesting people, artists, and business owners that I have to highlight them along the way. When I was younger, I wanted to be a journalist, and now technology has empowered us all to be just that.
I have both a home and mobile podcast station, so the next step is focusing more on creating content while marketing and promoting our products.
Do you have any advice for someone just starting out in this line of work?
It may sound cliché, but NEVER give up, adapt and evolve, and always treat people like people—not just as customers.
How do you build and maintain relationships with your customers?
The people who see me the most are those who get up and do their job every day.
The consistency is what maintains the relationships. Social media is a great way to stay connected abroad, but call me old school—I love interacting in person. People keep me motivated.
No people, no business.
So cheers to the people and to BuckWholesale—I am grateful!"
